Let's be PC

Everything in this day and age must be politically correct.

So how 'bout this for being PC?

Here sea kitty-kitty...

Okay... time for the new PeTA campaign. ---- http://www.peta.org/sea_kittens/

Don't eat fish, they're sea kittens...

I hate to let you guys in on a secret, but calling fish sea kittens just increased consumption in Oriental restaurants everywhere.

Global Cooling = Global Warming

While I'm all for recycling and conserving resources for the generations to come...

And there are things we can actively do to preserve the ozone layer...

Global Warming is a catch phrase I just don't buy. The oceans are experiencing cooling and there have been record setting low temperatures. Of course, some are still saying that the cold weather is just more evidence supporting global warming. The global warming craze has been another way to profit from others and collect extra tax money under the guise of carbon-offsets from car-owners and cow farts.

Someone forgot to give this kid the memo...

I knew you'd recognize that one. Try it... I dare you. It's nice and warm outside.

The simpler way to offset CO2 gases... plant trees and stop chopping them down!!!

Let's Make Some Money

Economic decline, unemployment incline, national debt rising...

People need hope, jobs, stability.

What to do? Let's just print more money. That'll make our dollar system stable and build confidence in our monetary system.

I'll even follow the example from our leaders this time and print my own.

Wait... there's a knock on the door.

Oh no... Here come the Men in Black!

Lead by example. But we may not want to follow you.

Barack Obama boldly states the old adage: "Lead by example"

So, during an economic "crisis", he chooses Timothy Geithner as his Treasury Secretary. Geithner did not pay his taxes from 2001 to 2003 to the tune of $34,000 due to an "honest mistake". Geithner paid his delinquent taxes, the IRS waived penalties, and now Geithner will enjoy his cabinet position as Secretary of Treasury.

Well that's one way to set an example. However, if I followed, I would owe penalties to the IRS well past the grave and be at risk of spending time in prison.

Roads to Economic Recovery are paved with good intentions.

But I would not suggest driving on them.

Robert Reich, Obama's Economic Advisor suggests using development of infrastructure to stimulate the economy. Take a page from FDR and do good for the community while employing people at the same time.

infrastructure
.
1: the underlying foundation or basic framework (as of a system or organization) 2: the permanent installations required for military purposes 3: the system of public works of a country, state, or region ; also : the resources (as personnel, buildings, or equipment) required for an activity
(source: Merriam-Webster)

The stipulations for these projects include:
  1. High social return
  2. Can be done with the greatest speed possible
  3. Jobs will not go to high skilled people who are professionals
  4. Jobs will not go to white construction workers
Link to Meeting Video where these are stated.

Did I just hear cheap, fast, and made by unskilled non-professionals.

If so, my question is:

Where are these roads, bridges, buildings, equipment, etc. going to be?

I want to be sure to avoid using them.
